Camping info
Please mark all your clothing and property with your name and ‘1st Keynsham’ so that any lost property can be matched with its owner.
Uniform should always be worn when travelling. A rucksack or holdall should be used rather than a suitcase. Suggestions for taking to camp:
General equipment
Sleeping bag (Sleeping bags should always be wrapped in a thick polythene bag which wraps around several times and tied up, not a rubbish sack, they tear too easily)
Roll mat (To stay warm)
Coat hanger (For uniform)
Strong plastic bag for clean clothes (tents and bags can leak)
Bag for dirty clothes (preferably tie up netting)
Underwear
Shirts/tee shirts
Night wear (Tee shirt and shorts are best in summer)
Shorts/trousers (Beware that jeans and track suits take ages to dry)
Swimming costume
Jumper/jacket/fleece (Even summer evenings can be cool)
Waterproof jacket (Trousers optional)
Hiking socks (Gortex if you can afford them, wear over normal socks)
Trainers/plimsolls
Sunscreen
Hat (Appropriate for the season)
Sunglasses
Gloves
Water bottle (For hikes and hot days)
Survival kit (If you have one)
