Right in the heart of Keynsham next to Keynsham High Street is our Scout HQ. Our facilities include a large hall, well stocked kitchen and bathroom facilities. The Scout HQ has disabled access and an additional smaller room, excellent for presentations or smaller gatherings. Our main larger hall is regularly used by fitness classes and is equipped with audio equipment and a projector. The building has a garden with picnic benches and is next to Ashton Way car park.
- A basic kitchen with two electric cookers & dishwasher. (not commercial use machines)
- Kitchen is available to hire with both main Hall and Explorer room
- Main large Hall 15mx15m seating approx. 150 persons with audio equipment is suitable for fitness classes short mat bowls, playgroups and children’s parties
- Explorer room – seating for approx. 80 persons, has multimedia facilities which includes ceiling projection – perfect for presentations.
- Whole building has WIFI
- Outside three grassed area’s suitable for games
- Parking on site for approx. 12 cars on site
Hire slots – Half day and whole day unless under special arrangement.

Due to increase Scouting activities as we bounce back from Covid 19 we are currently unable to offer any evening (after 5:30pm) or weekend lettings for private parties.
We do have limited availability Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.30pm
Green Open SpaceHire Chelwood
Chelwood Campsite is used extensively by 1st Keynsham Scout Group but is also available to other youth organisations subject to prior booking.
The site nestles in a fold of the soft Avon country side covering 30 acres, almost surrounded by woodland. There is a large camping area, screened from the road by rising ground. A stream running through a gully, offers a perfect area ideal for bivouacking.
Facilities include a gravel roadway. leading to a car-park, next to which are the toilet blocks, water points are located around the site. A modern barn is available as alternative wet accommodation (particularly for Cubs and Scouts).
The site borders the A368, 1/2 km from Chelwood village, and is easily reached via the M4/M5/M32, being no more than 30 minutes away from junction 18/19.
